"The US military has handed Al Anbar province, once the centre of Iraq's Sunni insurgency, to Iraqi control at a ceremony in the provincial capital – Ar Ramadi 02 SEP 2008.

Al Anbar province began a transformation in 2006 as former insurgents turned against al-Qaeda and became US allies. More than a quarter of all US soldiers killed in Iraq have died in Al Anbar, which is Iraq's biggest province. With Al Anbar's transfer Iraqi forces will control security in 11 of the country's 18 provinces. The government headquarters in Ar Ramadi was draped with tribal flags for the handover ceremony, which was presided over by US, Iraqi and tribal officials. A top US commander in Iraq, Marine Maj Gen John Kelly, told the Associated Press that US troop levels in Al Anbar would come down, but there would not be an instant or dramatic reduction. The marine force [in Al Anbar] will be smaller soon. I don't think it will be overnight. I think it will happen incrementally." The US military currently has 28,000 soldiers in Al Anbar, down from 37,000 in February, according to US figures, while the number of Iraqi soldiers and police has reportedly risen to 37,000, from 5,000 three years ago."

So my dear Batchmates - ayoko na sa front lines kasi mga Iraqis na ang may control ng Al Anbar. Dito na lang ako sa Base para asikasuhin at tulungan ang mga Marines, Sailor, Airmen at Soldiers. At least, part pa din nila ako. Kaya hindi na delikado masyado, sa pagbiyahe biyahe ko na lang at hindi na ako naka-uniform. Kahit na 'retarded' na ako, andito pa rin ako 'where the action is' - nasa blood ko na kasi yun eh. Civilian LIFE na !!!

Larry -> good to hear na may mga links kang nakuha about Leanell, di ba magkakasama rin tayo sa RPES? Yes, alam ko rin nga na sila ni Elmer Sumagpao na batchmate din natin sa AHS ang napangasawa ni Leanell. Hope we can get their e-mail addresses or contact numbers para maka-join din sila rito. Good news Larry, we had a communication recently kay Ma. Pareng James -> ok lang if in case hindi man tayo maging legal na magkumpare/kumare, anyhow ok na ok naman sa atin na parang tunay na rin tayong magkumpare/kumare kahit sa tawagan lang kasi nga may pinagsamahan na tayo nung high school & we're all becoming closer dahil dito sa forumotion link natin, for now, we're really have that good friendship na pwedeng maging lifetime na di ba?

Ramadhan time in middle east and it's getting boring here the whole 1month ito kaya sacrifice a lot. But anyway, with the advent of computer technology and the resurgence of internet websurfing,at least we have done some alibis to refresh and re-energize here...oh well life is pretty much like this. Pareng James -> Musta ka na? Back to 100% na ba ulit ang body resistance mo? Bale naka-sick leave ka ba? Totoo pards, nakaka-boring kapag month of Ramadan, I've experienced the same when I was in Muscat, Oman (Middle East Country din sila), pati working time ay adjusted dahil sa Salah time (praying time of the Muslims). Pare-pareho tayo na nagtatago sa hindi makikita ng mga Muslims if we want to drink or eat something, as a sign of respect sa religion nila. Talagang nasunod sila sa fasting time, they will not eat or drink anything hangga't hindi nalubog ang araw (except siyempre for the kids, especially the babies), kaya parang fiesta sa gabi, puno ang mga restaurants, parks, malls, etc... Sure Pareng James, if in case magkausap ulit kami ni Tess Rivera-Hidalgo, makakarating ang pangungumusta mo, nakakahiya kasing tawagan kapag office time eh. Actually kami ang magkakatabi sa upuan sa 2nd to the last row : Ojeda (Nancy), Reyes (Letty), Rivera (Tess), Robles (Fe), Solas (Cristina) & nag-iisa si Tupaz (Mareng Anna) sa likod namin.

Letz - Bising bisi ka pala lately, talagang ganun ang buhay, parang life di ba. It is a big rat race to get the cheese ... ha ha ha. Syanga pala, tama ka na 'semi-retired' lang ako. Naging masyado advance lang ang utak ko kasi nasa 'Fleet Reserve' pa ako, still subject to 'recall'. Pero ok lang, nakakatangap na ako ng 'pension' ko at saka disability from Veterans Administration.

Elie - Ok ang joke mo about 'Why did the chicken cross the road' ... Angkop ang mga sagot ng bawat isa sa personalities nila.

James Dungca - Tama ka P're, pag Ramadan eh super boring sa Middle East. Dami pang bawal di ba. 'Di bale matatapos din yan at back to normal uli. Natatandaan ko ang sinabi mo na may mga Coalition Forces na inambush na, sinunog pa and dragged on the street at desicrated talaga dahil pinutol putol pa. Yan naman talaga ang ikinakatakot ko dito - ambush at IED (roadside bombs). Pero ok lang, when it is time - it is time to face our Maker. Wala tayong magagawa dun di ba.

My most Unforgettable Moment in AHS: when I was crowned Ms. Alma Mater, I really could not forget that moment. Di ako makapaniwala, ako ba iyon? Ayaw pa sana akong payagan ng strict na parents ko for the awarding, mantakin mo iyon? Hindi ko alam pano ko explain sa kanila how important it is for me. Anyway, I finally found the right timing to fully explained to them everything, buti na lang napapayag ko rin. Kung hindi pumayag pala sila eh di hindi ako nakilala sa school.

My most Memorable Moment in AHS: Lots of moments together with the DPANOTS, our lakwatsa, our hardships and happiness, our struggle and effort to study and our encounter with boys… lalo na iyong encounter namin with the FEU boy’s (scouts din kasi sila).

My Most treasured Gift that I received from my AHS classmates: from my classmates, I treasure most that I know I was accepted as I am…madali akong makipag-bonding sa mga classmates ko noon. Ang galing ng samahan ng section namin noon. I remember Dodie being the president. Ako naman ang treasurer, ni minsan hindi ako nahirapang maningil sa mga iyon. Magaling makisama lahat.

My Family Now (some info, profiles or insights): I am happily married to Jett Reyes, he hails from Manila. This person knows me completely inside and out, and has always made me laugh. We’ve known each other so well, that even if he does not express his feelings, I could understand what he wanted. We are blessed with three children. The eldest is Paula, Lai to her close friends, who is already working. She graduated from the College of St. Benilde, and took up Multi-media Arts. She is at present earning also from her online selling of t-shirts, which she and her barkada designs. The second is Heidi, who is our very talented daughter. She graduated Valedictorian during her elementary days at Elizabeth Seton School, and also at the honor roll during her high school days at San Beda College, Alabang. During her high school days, she is also a member of the women’s basketball varsity team, which brought our family to numerous events where we almost lost our voices in cheering for them. She is now a sophomore at UP, Diliman taking up B.S. Psycho. Hopefully taking up her medicine proper soon. Our youngest is our street-smart son, Juancho, who is a freshman at San Beda College, Alabang. My husband and I were so glad to have him, akala namin puro girls na ang anak namin eh. You could not hide anything from this young man, he is very observant. As a family, we enjoyed playing tenpin bowling together, going out to the movies, dining in different types of restaurants, or just making pasyal sa mga malls, even divisoria di namin pinapatawad. I always pray to the Lord above for the health of my parents, and parents-in-law. We always wish that they could spend more time with us, so hangga’t kaya namin we do share happy moments with them. Our guiding principle in life: Love our Lord, with all our heart, with all our soul, and with all our mind. Follow His words and accept His will[/size].

A McDonalds love story..

A little old couple walked slowly into a McDonalds one cold winter evening.

They looked out of place amid the young families and young couples eating there that night..

Some of the customers looked admiringly at them. You could tell what the admirers were thinking:

"Look, there is a couple who has been through a lot together, probably for 60 years or more!"

The little old man walked up to the cash register, placed his order with no hesitation and then paid for their meal.

The couple took a table near the back wall and started taking food off of the tray.

There was one hamburger, one order of French fries and one drink.

The little old man unwrapped the plain hamburger and carefully cut it in half.

He placed one half in front of his wife.

Then he carefully counted out the French fries, divided them in two piles and neatly placed one pile in front of his wife.

He took a sip of the drink, and then his wife took a sip as the man began to eat his few bites.

Again, you could tell what people around the old couple were saying. - "They were used to sharing everything"

Then the crowd noticed that the little old lady still hadn't eaten a thing.

She just sat there watching her husband eat and occasionally sipped some of the drink.

A young man came over and begged them to let him buy them another meal.

The lady explained that no, they were used to sharing.

As the little old man finished eating and was wiping his face neatly with a napkin, the young man could stand it no longer and asked again.

After being politely refused again, he finally asked the little old lady, "Ma'am, why aren't you eating. You said that you share everything.

As what I suspected, you will surely asked the date in one of our closest batchmates, eh di tama nga ako, kasi hindi ko talaga ibibigay sa iyo, nakakahiya yata iyon on my part, but as what I'm telling you na meron siguradong makaka-alala, kita mo, you've got the right person agad na napagtanungan. Fyi, it was still my husband Roel ang naunang mag-advance bday greetings sa akin, aside sa very thoughtful siya ay maagap talaga sa lahat ng importante sa kanya. I know also how excite grandpa you are, imagine, kesehodang mapuyat basta't ma-welcome lang ang pagdating nila Nhing & your 2 grandchildren. Hope naging super-saya kayo lahat at naubos ba ang food that you prepared para sa masaganang salo-salo ninyo? Naku Larry, nung umpisa ng tongue twisters that you've posted ay ok pa ako, pero habang tumatagal ay nakakapilipit na ng tongue, but I finished lahat iyon ha (from top to bottom, word by word talaga). Larry, talagang nakakabilib ang pagiging matiyaga mo & you always give a lot of your time para lang maparamdam mo kung gaano mo kami binibigyan ng importance here, just like what you did sa GTKPI ni Nanette, you really took time to post her picture from our AHS yearbook when she was crowned as Miss Alma Mater & at the same time her recent picture naman with her lovable family (naging before & after ang dating di ba?)

That's why as soon as I read your e-mail, I called up Larry & talked to him. Then I called you up, thankful ako kasi you're about to sleep na pala when you're son answer the phone. O kita mo, kailangan lang ng on-the-spot assistance or "tutukan lang ika nga", then, hayan na at nakapagpost ka na ulit & as a test posting nga lang ang ginawa mo kaya short message lang muna today, but I know sa next posting mo ay mahaba na iyan. Larry -> fyi, while I'm talking with Prislette, she told me na yung names sa mga pictures that you've posted above, ay medyo naiba na ang ayos, dahil I came to realize din kanina na may idinagdag at may inilipat ka, kaya hindi na nag-match ang picture against sa name as caption from left to right, like si Pareng Jun Papa & Pareng Freddie. Then may picture na rin pala si Noel Ruiz pero wala pa ang name niya. I know super busy ka, lalo pa nga at kadarating lang ng mga apo mo, kapag free ka na lang, tsaka mo na lang ulit gawin ang necessary adjustments sa names as per the pictures you've arranged.

Hi Aurora Babao, our ever so nice and matalinong batchmates. Remember me Jaime Dungca of course the utol of Manny Dungca..yung director ng Dramatic Club. Ang galling naman nasa US ka pala what a great leap forward !!! I can’t help but recollect yung time na 4 tayong namasyal nina Noreena Bibot Lansang kasama si Pareng Fernando Nunez III for the very first time, dun sa Philippine National Museum. We walked there straight from Araullo kumbaga mga kids palang tayo.
Parang mga bata tingin ditto tingin duon ng mga memorabilia sa museum right? My utol Manny is just doing fine in PNB, he’s the head branch in PNB Buendia Avenue Extension. As usual, sosyalera pa rin si aking kuya “sis” ngehehehehe…Please extend to your sis my utols best regard to her.

Thanking you again so much for making this forumation a very heartwarming look lalo na yung mga pics na sent ni Lilia Matias, wow tlaga nga naman pati pa yung kanyang 31 yrs ago pics worth remembering. Wala ba tayong kahit isang group pic nina Triffy at iba pa sa Journalism ni Mr Vazquez? I can’t remember any, wala yata.
