PostSubject: THELMA OO PUSONG MAMON AKO PARA SA MGA NAAPI, BAKAL SA MGA..   WELCOME AHS77 STARBATCH KAPIHAN ADDICTS... - Page 4 Icon_minitimeFri Aug 22, 2008 2:09 am

MANDARAMBONG!!! You guys know that!

Thelma > Hello dear friend, thanks for the prompt and immediate reply. Though it has dual meanings, one bad and the other good, to be a person who's got pusong mamon is still good enough than to be called a hardened heart.

Alam ng lahat na in the Bible the heart is not simply the organ that pumps blood through the body; it’s a metaphor for a person's innermost core or spiritual center, di ba. "Heart" is shorthand for "the total person," for "one’s whole being or self" o sa Tagalog KABUUAN NG TAO. A pure heart is a life directed and devoted totally and unreservedly to God, unang pinagbibigyan ng puso natin ay Siya, para ang lahat ay tumakbong tama, no one will surely contest that. God sees, tests and searches the hidden depths of the human heart. The phrase "hardness of heart" is used not only for God’s people’s enemies, like Pharaoh in Egypt, sa galit ni Lord kasi di ba Siya na ang nagpatigas ng puso ni Paraon, but I wanna remind everybody it applies also to God’s chosen people, Israel. In the New Testament it describes not only the scribes and Pharisees but also the disciples (Mark 6:52). A hardhearted person is self-centered, impervious to spiritual things, resistant or closed off to God and what God wants to do in that person’s life, ito ang worst di ba, kaya diyan ako galit na galit sa mga taong calloused na. It is deep below the surface of their lives na, then, I just pray that as they continue to live the Lord still works in their hearts, and God begins a work of renewing grace in us. The real action is deep in the heart. Pusong mamon when taken at a godly perspective is very much complimentary though it has a dual meaning of like 'balat-sibuyas' na konting 'utot ng butiki' eh umangal na. Hindi ako ganun, I guess sa primary meaning of the Word that I am sensitive to the feelings of other people, yon, like what happened to Leticia when she was attacked and nobody came to her rescue, doon ko matatanggap na pusong mamon ako, Thelma, sa mga taong alam kong TAMA AT PINAGTULUNGAN NG NAKAKAKARAMING NAWALAN NG LAMAN SI GITNA NG KANILANG MAGKABILANG TENGA!!!

So I wanna clear that I may accept being a pusong mamon for people who I know are basically good and too much pushed to the extrent of depriving the person the respect that should be accorded to all cuz God is no respecter of person.

Going back to the issue about the heart, Jesus takes issue with those whose spiritual focus is on the surface, who are concerned solely with outward actions. He is perturbed by those who have reduced religion to doing the "right things," to looking good, to maintaining outward appearances. He is repulsed by their superficial, skin-deep faith because, as the famous Baptist preacher, C. F. D. Moule says, "Externals are worse than useless, unless the heart is in the right place." HENCE PUSONG MAMON IN ITS STRICTEST SENSE OF THE WORD!!!

Thank you Thelma, for calling me pusong mamon by first definition, inuulit ko...

Hindi mo lang siguro nakuha ang kahulugan ko ng ugat ng crying blues but at the end of your message you hit the crux of the matter!!!

I hate to keep you waiting. Tulad ng sinabi mo di ka makatulog, so sorry for that. Like what Thelma did, kaya hanga ako sa inyo!!! I salute you guys!!!

ITO ANG MAGANDA SA FORUMOTION, PARANG HARAPAN, AT NAGKAKASALINGBAYAN NG KURUKURO. THOUGH MA'AM JOLEY'S ANCSTRAL HOUSE IS EQUALLY GREAT KASI DEPENDE YAN SA AUDIENCE O NAKATIRA SA LOOB NG BAHAY. MAGANDA NGA ANG NAGDALAWA KASI MAY CHOICE ANG BATCHMATES NATIN DEPENDE SA PERSONALIDAD NIYA DI BA?

I KNOW AT FORUMOTION EVERYTHING'S IN CONTROL, CUZ NOTHING IS NOT BENT TO THE CALL OF THE HOUR, VOTE ON OCTOBER 2 OR 4, 2008!!!!

KUNG NAG-AASTANG CBCP AKO, PAGPASENSYAHAN NYO NA AKO KASI ANG ROLE MODELS NAMING NASA MINISTERYO AY SI HESUS NA TANGING REBOLUSYONISTA NG PANAHON NG ROMANO, GUSTO KASI NI HESUS NA BAGAMANG HINDI NAITAYO NG MAGDAMAGAN ANG ROMA, AY SA TAGAL NILANG NASA EMPERYO AY MAGSIMULA NAMAN SILANG MAGING TAO, SI HESUS ANG WALANG TAKOT NA KUMUTSA AT LUMAMPASO NG KANILANG MGA PANGALAN... Cuz the Romans, the more they focused on outward actions, the less attention they gave to inner attitudes. They were going through the motions but losing sight of their deeper motivations. They focused on the rules but neglected a relationship with the living God as they continued to burn millions of bibles. They gave lip service but did not give themselves in loving service. They washed their hands but did not have a clean heart. LAHAT TAYO DITO ALAM KO, NASA ISANG LAYUNIN NG GIBAIN ANG MOOG NG ROMANONG KUNG ILANG TAON NA AY WALA PA DING NAGAGAWA!!!

The Deadly Party
Question no. 3 : A man went to a party and drank some of the punch. He then left early. Everyone else at the party who drank the punch subsequently died of poisoning. Why did the man not die?

ANSWER : The poison in the punch came from the ice cubes. When the man drank the punch the ice was fully frozen. Gradually it melted, poisoning the punch. KASALANAN NG YELO DI NAMING NAGTANONG HANE?

Trouble with Sons
QUESTION NO. 4 : A woman had two sons who were born on the same hour of the same day of the same year. But they were not twins. How could this be so?

ANSWER : They were two of a set of triplets (or quadruplets etc.) KUNG HINDI KAMBAL EH DI TRIPLETS DI BA, GANUNG KA-EASY... though this simple little puzzle stumps many people. They try outlandish solutions involving test-tube babies or surrogate mothers. Why does the brain search for complex solutions when there is a much simpler one available? HAHAHAHAHA!!!

The Man in the Bar

QUESTION NO. 5 : A man walks into a bar and asks the barman for a glass of water. The barman pulls out a gun and points it at the man. The man says 'Thank you' and walks out. This puzzle has claims to be the best of the genre. It is simple in its statement, absolutely baffling and yet with a completely satisfying solution. Most people struggle very hard to solve this one yet they like the answer when they hear it or have the satisfaction of figuring it out.

ANSWER : The man had hiccups. The barman recognized this from his speech and drew the gun in order to give him a shock. It worked and cured the hiccups - so the man no longer needed the water. WALANG JOKE YAN KASI SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN NA PAGMAY SINOK ANG ISANG TAO MATATANGGAL PAGGINULAT MO SIYA!!! KASI ANG SINOK AY SENSATION MULA SA DIAPHARAGM NA TUMATAKBO SA SPINAL CORD SA PAMAMAGITAN NG VAGUS AND PHRENIC NERVES KAYA PAGGINULAT MO ANG SINISINOK MAY POSSIBILITY NA MABAGONG BIGLA ANGSANHI NITO PERO HINDI SA LAHAT NG PAGKAKATAON.

I am back again. I just have one important news to share with you guys. For the benefit of those who were informed by Pareng Randy about my operation, I hope this coming Sunday 24 Aug’08 would be the final culmination of my blood clot operation here. Last Wednesday the hospital called me up to arrange my time for pre-angioplasty check-up and that was settled yesterday morning na. And so the coming Sunday nga would be the scheduled operation…again. But I do hope this will be scheduled na coz’ I have a very high contact inside the hospital who backed me up in this scenario.

The operation is so called angioplasty. They found through the angiogram test the blood clot on my left and right arterial dimension around 75% and 90% clogged respectively. This blood clot affects the flow of blood and oxygen right through my heart, the reason why I suffered this cardiac arrest. Without the aid of regular medicine in-take such as Plavix, lipitor, isoket, losec, tenormin, aspirin etc etc. it would be very risky again to experience another heart attack. Henceforth, the need to maintain these medicines.

My angioplasty operation is not at all life-threatening unlike the so called heart by-pass operation. The doctor will make a small incision (cut) to my “singit”, and a catheter will be inserted into the blood vessel at dun papasok sya sa circulatory system inside toward my heart. Alam na alam ko na ito kasi nabasa ko pa sa internet hehehehe…once inside they will locate the blood clog and from there, they will inflate the narrowed area, insert the so called stent to widen the narrow gap and leave it there permanently. If this is completely done, then the operation is successful. I will then remain in hospital for a couple of days to recover completely. No lifting more than 3kgrams or run. No taking tub bath daw for 1 week, shower lang pede. It will take at least one month for me to recover completely until I go back to normal life and from there I will be able to run, exercise and play tennis na as I like. So there you are folks, mga kwentong may lesson to learn that you can share with others.

What happened ba to me? Kwento ko lang po for the sake of art.

Here we go :
November 01’07 (susme araw pa ng patay!!!) that night around 8pm we started playing basketball mga kano pa kalaban no? Then in only 15 minutes running biglang sumakit ang tiyan ko so I asked for immediate replacement. After another 15 minutes naging chest pain siya. I suffered for almost 1 hr until I asked my friend to send me home. When I reached home my friend told me maputla ako at pinagpapawisan. But I ignored them and went inside my room to rest. After another 1 hr chest pain still lurks, then one of my friend told me they called the ambulance to rush me to emergency delikado daw situation ko. I said fine thanks, so I prepared myself. Then eto na I felt something bad hindi nako makahinga papuga puga nalang. Ano ba to? Kako delikado na to so the ambulance came to my rescue and immediately put oxygen to my mouth,bp etc etc…parang pelikula ito ah.hehehee..

Into the emergency para akong artista super dami ng nurse very cute pa hehehehe…some are pinays I asked them what is happening to me. One nurse told me…MI daw MI sus ano bay un? Then they removed my pants,t-shirt and started to take everything out from me like wallet, ring, watch. There they checked the result of my bp,ecg,sugar,x-ray shot etc etc..then the doctor told me your bp is 160/140, your sugar is 400. Then the nurse injected me the trombolysis, then insulin and then ask me to take the calci block sa ilalim ng dila. Sus super dami ginawa sa akin. Immediately they confined me to coronary cardiac room for 1 day on a 24 hr observation. And after 5 days I was discharged from the hospital..alive.

My case is cardiac arrest or the so called Myo-cardio infraction. A case of severe heart attack.Muntik na daw ako dun if it took me mga 1-2 hrs pa tigok na daw ako. Kaya the moral of the story is : as you grow old and reach the age of 40 pataas, be carefull with the kind of foods we eat. Avoid too much fatty and cholesterol foods, yung mamantika and eat more fresh fruits and vegetables. So take the balance the food intake whereby the acid food (like meat, chicken,) is 30% and the alkaline food(like fruits, veggys etc)is higher at 70%. And more so, regular exercise is definitely a yes…yes…

Okey folks and that’s it. Thanks for taking time to read my sad story. Mareng Letty, tell this to Pareng Roel alam niya daming high cholesterol food sa barko niwala ka.

Rgds,
James D Duncan

PostSubject: JAMES WE CARE... NA-TOUCH MO KAMI!!!   WELCOME AHS77 STARBATCH KAPIHAN ADDICTS...

Come Saturday between 6 to 9 pm, we shall lift you up in our prayers sa Prayer Meeting namin. Even sa personal prayers namin dito sa bahay. I will also text other pastor friends ko mga kilalang faithful believers ni Lord. Even, my mom-in-law for several times she went under the knife, and it’s only real biblical faith that matters.

James, I wanna go straight to the point cuz I also asked this to my Mom and Dad before they got operated several years ago. As we know when we go under the knife, it’s a matter of life and death dib a. Hindi tayo dapat matakot sa issue na ito cuz this will somehow prepare us to ask ourselves about the assurance of going to heaven whatever happens. Many people are so healthy and they even die ahead of people who’s got cancer.

And these are Evangelism Explosion’s 2 diagnostic questions:

1. All of us anytime may take the way of the flesh and that is death. As I earlier addressed, una-una lang ang buhay. The question here is, Do you know for sure that you are going to be with God in Heaven?

QUESTION NO. 1 confronts us about how people gamble their souls for not knowing where to go when we die. If we don’t know we are going to heaven then the Word of God tells us we are not going there. John 5:39 clearly says, “Search the scriptures for ye know ye have eternal life. And they are they which testify of me.” You see! Obviously God created heaven and earth and He is the only One who knows the way to heaven! Not religion which is man’s way, but God’s way mentioned in His Word!

2. Definitely, all of us will have to face God at an appointed time. If God were to ask you, “Why should I let you into My Heaven?” what would you say?

QUESTION NO. 2 qualifies every man’s attempt to enter heaven but there is only One Way and this is mentioned in Acts 4:12, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name (not even religion) under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved, except Christ Jesus!” Not religion nor its tradition and rituals but faith in Biblical Christ who died for our sins. All we got to do to be assured of going to heaven is mentioned in Rom. 10:9, 10, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

This is the prayer of salvation:
Dear Lord Jesus, I admit that I am a sinner. I have done many things that don’t please you. I have lived my life for myself. I am sorry and I repent. I ask you to forgive me. I believe that you died on the cross for me, to save me. You did what I could not do for myself. I come to you now and ask you to take control of my life, I give it to you. Help me to live every day in a way that pleases you. I love you, Lord, and I thank you that I will spend all eternity with you. Our Father, In Jesus’ name. Amen

PostSubject: GOD'S SIMPLE PLAN OF SALVATION... THERE'S NO OTHER WAY!   WELCOME AHS77 STARBATCH KAPIHAN ADDICTS... - Page 4 Icon_minitimeFri Aug 22, 2008 8:04 am

GOD IS LOVE

1. GOD'S PLAN - Peace and Eternal Life
God loves you and wants you to experience His peace and eternal life. The BIBLE says..."For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16

2. MAN'S PROBLEM - Separation
Being at peace with God is not automatic because you by nature are separated from God. The BIBLE says... "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23

3. GOD'S REMEDY - The Cross
God's love bridges the gap of separation between God and you. When Jesus Christ died on the Cross and rose from the grave, He paid the penalty for your sins. The BIBLE says... "He personally carried the load of our sins in his own body when he died on the cross..." 1 Peter 2:24

4. MAN'S RESPONSE - Receive Christ
You cross the bridge into God's family when you receive Christ by personal invitation. The BIBLE says... "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name..." John 1:12

STEPS TO SALVATION

Men still cry, "What must I do to be saved?" The Bible provides a clear answer.

BELIEVE: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16). "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned" (Mark 16:16).
RECEIVE: "He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe in his name" (John 1:11,12).
ACKNOWLEDGE: (YOUR SIN) "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). "God be merciful to me a sinner" (Luke 18:13).
REPENT: (OF YOUR SIN) "Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish" (Luke 13:3). "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out" (Acts 3:19).
CONFESS: (YOUR SIN) "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). "If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved" (Romans 10:9).
FORSAKE: (YOUR SIN) "Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return unto the Lord...for he will abundantly pardon" (Isaiah 55:7).

WHAT TO PRAY

Dear Lord Jesus I am a sinner. I believe that you died for my sins. Right now I repent by turning away from sin and open the door of my heart and life to You. I receive You as my personal Lord and Savior. Through the help of the Holy Spirit I will serve you all the days of my life.

If you have prayed to receive Jesus as your Lord and Saviour earnestly and have asked God to give you the Holy Spirit who will become your comforter, we recommend that you study the Scriptures (the authorized King James Version) on a daily basis (preferrably in the early morning hours when your energies are the finest). Jesus wants us to eat the WORD like we eat food to mature in the spirit which enables us to walk in fellowship with Him on a daily basis and we hope to see you in heaven.

Ahoy there from Sand Blasted Heat of Al Anbar Province, Iraq

It was a Roller Coaster Ride reading all the postings here. But that is awesome, kasi kung puro mushy stuff and sweet nothings ... boring din naman di ba. So it is nice to add some reality.

Larry ... call me PSYCHO or whatever but I will answer this riddle or brainteaser ha:

STATEMENT OF CASE :

It is a story about a girl. While at the funeral of her mother, she met a man whom she did not know. She thought he was amazing, her dream guy, and she fell in love with him but never asked for his number and could not find him after the funeral. A few days later the girl killed her sister.

QUESTION : What is her motive in killing her sister ?

The Girl 'killed' her sister because .................... kasi ganito yun ............

She wanted that 'man', her dream guy, the guy that she fell in love with to show up again. Since the Guy showed up at her mother's funeral, she is hoping that same guy would show up again at the funeral of her sister. Then they would live happily ever after ..... sa bundok ng tralalala ....

But I am not Psycho .... ok Larry. I just answered your riddle or brain teaser.

ehris and Letty ... thanks nga pala sa concern, I will try to be extra careful (para makapag post pa rin dito). Larry I enjoyed your Visayan poem, naintindihan ko naman (kay kahit na dugay na ako sa amerika, makasulti pa man gid ako magbinisaya). Prislette - I have a house in Lemoore, about 2-1/2 hours drive from Hercules (depending if you are driving within the speed limit), syanga pala, sabi mo bibili ka ng laptop - ang mga laptop these days are bundled with Windows Vista (a RAM hogging O/S) - do not settle for a 1 GIG RAM, kasi your other programs will run like mollases on a cold day - Make sure to get a minimum of 2 GIG RAM, it will make running a lot of programs on your laptop a lot easier. You can forgo alot of the 'bells and whistles' and make sure to get built-in wireless capability so you can surf the net anywhere in the house. That is as long na bumili ka ng wireless router or switch. Be careful sa road nga pala, you mention na you are going on a 'road trip' - a real road trip, not like here na ang road trip consist of heavy armor and high caliber weapons. Ang 'STOP' signs dito ay just mere suggestions.

To ALL Batchmates .... Kumusta na and also to ALL new Kapihan StarBatchmates members - WELCOME!

You ALL take care and Peace Out!

Hello dear classmates sa Araullo High School 1977!

Quick message lang to say hello to all! I am here in Toronto for until this Sunday when I will return back to Falls Church, Virginia to work as full time worker for CMDI which means, my working visa will be under their company's sponsorship. Wish me luck because, I still have to re-apply for TN status 'visa' again and then, apply for Social Security number in the US so I get paid as an employee.

Anyway, I wish to request someone from our batch to get in touch with the Araullo High School principal as I wish to sponsor a chess tournament, an essay writing contest, and a poetry writing contest for the students of Araullo High School, Manila. I wish to request the Araullo High School principal's telephone number, cell phone number, email address, etc.

Your help is much appreciated.

Thanks and regards to all.

Maganda ang sikat ngayon ng araw! Kaya a very refreshing morning to all of you!

Pareng James -> hi to you! Pls. bear in mind that I am one of those who will surely & sincerely pray for your angioplasty surgery & hoping too that everyting will be ok. We will surely miss you here for quite few days, kaya take all necessary precautions for safe & early recovery. Sana nga ay hindi na ma-postpone ulit ang iyong operation, kasi di ba dapat ay last month pa, kaya lang as what you've told us before the birthday celebration of Mrs. Sarmiento last month, sa dami kamo ng mga naka-line-up na patients for heart operation diyan sa Qatar hospital, hindi ka maisingit, which we became worried & I even asked you kung ok lang sa heart condition mo to wait pa upto October 2008, at least na-schedule ka earlier. With your strong faith in God &
prayers coming from your family, relatives, friends, classmates & batchamates, hoping that the your operation will be a successful one. Kahit na nga you will go under the knife operation, still your being so jolly, humorous ay nandiyan pa rin. Imagine, pati nung isugod ka sa hospital, you're very much awake & nasa matinong pag-iisip pati pati ang magagandang nurses ay hindi nakalagpas sa iyong matalas na paningin! Talagang your eyes are always wide-open sa mga magagandang bagay! Relax, be strong & huwag masyadong mag-alala para hindi tumaas ang BP mo especially on the day of your operation. God bless you!

Larry -> hello! It's true, talagang nakaka-touch ang story ni Pareng James about his heart, yun nga lang kahit he knows that he will be operated soon, nandoon pa rin ang pagiging masayahin niya di ba? You're not only our batchmate & friend here but even an all-out spiritual Pastor/adviser to all of us. I believe that prayers make miracles.

Thelma -> thanks for sharing to us the posted message of yours about your anniversary greetings sa QT. Honestly, I'm one of those batchmates of ours na naging masaya nung magkaroon ng QT & more happier when Larry created din this forumotion dahil tuloy pa rin ang updates ko from our batchmates that I miss when I leave QT. I'm considering this forumotion as extension of QT kasi nga may mga nagpo-post sa QT na hindi nagpo-post dito & vice versa at meron din namang nagpo-post in both, it's already a good sign na nagkakabalitaan tayong lahat after 31 years since we graduated in high school

Elie -> wow! It seems you're not much loaded sa work mo ha! Nice to read your long messages w/ additional info pa about women. Talaga, you've got an idea from the love story/history namin ni Roel for your upcoming 25th wedding anniversary invitation

Manny.Ace.Fresh -> hell, happy to read your latest message & medyo nakaka-relieve talaga dahil you're very much alive & kicking kahit ang isip namin ay palaging nag-aalala sa situation mo diyan sa Iraq. Obviously, ganun din ang sagot ko sa tanong ni Larry, the girl killed her sister intentionally for that strange man to attend to the funeral for the girl to see her again, kaya lang nasagot mo na & I didn't post my answer na lang, kasi late na akong nakapag-open ng computer & I've read all the messages before I make this reply. Ingat ka lang diyan my friend, siyempre our prayers are with you, especially your safety

Trifee -> hello chatmate (hindi na batchmate ano), noted that you're in Canada at the moment, nabanggit mo nga sa akin the last time we chat na you have to exit para maayos ang papers mo. Mabuhay ka Trifee for planning to sponsor a chess tournament & essary writing contest sa AHS. I'm quite sure that you've posted the same message sa QT, let the current officers inquire for you, if there will be no reply for let's say 1 week, pls. let me know & we will assist you here from forumotion. Fyi, I left an offline chat box message for you then tsaka ko lang naread that you have a recent message pala

To everyone -> warm regards & hello to all of you! I love you

PostSubject: James: Take Care & Get Well   WELCOME AHS77 STARBATCH KAPIHAN ADDICTS... - Page 4 Icon_minitimeFri Aug 22, 2008 9:45 pm

James: My prayers & thoughts are w/ you. I had no idea what you went through. Really, who would have thought that you had an MI? That is Myocardial Infarction. I hope that it was just a small infarct, what happens is that the muscles of the heart does not get enough O2 supply, so it dies & necrotizes. The muscle of the heart will then not be able to pump well, not enough blood supply & O2 supply. The infarct is permanent damage, as if there is scarring in the smooth muscles of the heart. On top of that, you said you also have "blood clot"? or is it your arteries are "clogged" w/ plaques of fat or cholesterol? Usually Angioplasty is done to to unclog arteries or veins, there is balloon at the tip of a catheter & then when it is in the right spot, the balloon will be inflated to widen the circumference of the artery & at the same time to remove the plaque.Having a blood clot is a totally different diagnosis & treatment, or are they also removing a clot? You will probably be in life-long treatment of anti-coagulants like Coumadin, Heparin or Lovenox & anticholesterolemics. At any rate, I wish that you will be well & that no complications will arise. Just remember this: put a lot of pressure on your groin after the procedure as the most common complication is bleeding from the femoral artery, no heavy lifting or activity for a while. Who will take care of you? Will your family be able to fly there to be w/ you? I guess you will be fine, as you said: there are a lot of good-looking nurses that will take care of you. Naku, ha... behave yourself!!

Manny C: Belated Happy B-day again. Ganda ng pics ninyo. Nauna ka pala sa amin mag-celebrate ng big 5-0, just the same, we all look great! Mga looking beautiful & pogi. Pero, sali ka pa rin sa amin, ha? In 2 years.

In all honesty my dear, ni minsan, hindi ako man lang kinausap ni Rudy V. mo. He never talked to me & neither that I had talked to him. Ano ba ito? after all this years, ngayon lang ako may nalalaman tungkol sa ating mga H.S. days. Sobra na talaga ang "pag-blush" ko. Anyway, just the same, I am glad na nandito ka na uli.

What's new, ka Freddie?

Thelma: Wow naman, great at nag post ka uli, at this time, sobrang haba naman. Ngayon ko din lang nakita siya after all these years. Still looks the same. So, enjoy ka sa apo mo? Of course, haven't we heard it that the grandchildren is greater joy than our own children? Post naman some new pictures of the apo, ok?

Manny Ace: Good, you are back, always be careful over there. You are always included in my prayers that you will be safe all the time.

Ciao,
prislette

Hi Prislette,
Thanks Prislette for a very informative details of your message. Bilib ako sayo dpat hindi ka nurse kundi Doctor because all information contained here are very technical that you can explain very precisely. As contained in my message, it is a blood clot that has penetrated in the artery not a clogge with plaques of fat or cholesterol. Don’t worry iha, I will behave very well pag natuloy na angioplasty ko. But my worry is the kiliti in my singit when they pressed hard similar to what they did in my angiogram procedure…baka kasi sabihin ko sa nurse, “wg jan…may kiliti ako jan hehehehe….

Jun Recidoro,
Hello my friend how are you? Welcome to the forumation. I already tolde to Pareng Randy Nunez by email that you are asking Pareng Ronaldos Santos whereabout and that you want give your best reagards to him. Pareng Randy will post the message soon Just wait and see.

Mareng Letty,
I hope the scheduled tomorrow angioplasty operation will push thru and in that case I will be away guys for a couple of days perhaps. Kaya I’m gonna miss you all. What matters is we are united in one and the best has already come and with the faith in God He shall lift-up our arms in heaven.

To all batchmates,
Here’s to back-track the instruction (kuno) by Mr. Vasquez, Journalism instructor for me to research more about angioplasty Submit the report on time to be included in the Araullo High Schools’ “The Wall” school paper for the next weeks publication.

Prepared and researched by James Dungca, reviewed and edited by Chief editor Aurora dodie Babao. And approved for inclusion in the literary page articles by associate editor Elmer de Guzman.

The print out of “The Wall” was then supervised by Manny Cortez with support from Triffy Miaco
and Fernando NunezIII. Noreena Bibot Lansang, also one of the associate editor of the school paper will announce the scheduled release of the publication.

In the meantime, the students are advice to refrain from using the school paper as pambalot ng lumpia at pritong isda. Because Ms. Bilog has apprehended some students, found taking more than one newspaper and use it also to sell bagoong and kamoteng kahoy with the school paper as another pambalot. Mahiya naman kayo !!! Please give due respect to our School Paper…hehehehehe…

ANGIOPLASTY, WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Prepared by : James Dungca

Coronary angioplasty, also referred to as percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), is a medical procedure used to open clogged heart arteries. Coronary angioplasty can improve some of the symptoms associated with blocked arteries, such as chest pain and shortness of breath, or can be used during a heart attack to quickly open a blocked artery and minimize heart damage.

Angioplasty (AN-je-o-plast-tee) involves temporarily inserting and expanding a tiny balloon at the site of your blockage to help widen a narrowed artery. Angioplasty is usually combined with implantation of a small metal coil called a stent in the clogged artery to help prop it open and decrease the chance of it narrowing again (restenosis). Coronary angioplasty has become a common medical procedure with more than 1 million done in the United States every year.

Who is angioplasty for?
When medications or lifestyle changes aren't enough to reduce the effects of artery blockages, or if you have a heart attack, worsening chest pain or other symptoms, your doctor might suggest angioplasty. First you'll have an imaging test called a coronary angiogram to determine if your blockages can be treated with angioplasty.

If the main artery supplying the left side of your heart is narrowed, if your heart muscle is weak or if you have small, diffusely diseased blood vessels, then coronary artery bypass surgery (CABG) may be a better option. In addition, if you have diabetes and multiple blockages, your doctor may suggest coronary artery bypass surgery. The decision of angioplasty versus bypass surgery will depend on the details of your heart disease and overall medical condition

How do you prepare for angioplasty?
Before a scheduled angioplasty, your doctor will review your medical history and perform a physical exam. You'll receive instructions on what you can or can't eat or drink before the procedure. Typically, you have to stop eating or drinking by midnight the night before. Your preparation may vary slightly if you're already hospitalized. Whether the angioplasty is prescheduled or done as an emergency, you'll likely have some routine tests first, including a chest X-ray, electrocardiogram (EKG or ECG) and blood tests.

Who performs an angioplasty?
Angioplasty is performed by a heart specialist (cardiologist) and a team of specialized cardiovascular nurses and technicians, usually in a cardiac catheterization laboratory. Ideally, an angioplasty will be done only at a medical institution with backup cardiac surgical facilities or access to rapid emergency transport services because of a small risk of complications that could require emergency heart surgery.
Generally, the more practice in doing a procedure, the better the outcome. Research has shown the best angioplasty outcomes are those done by doctors who do at least 75 angioplasties a year and in hospitals that perform at least 400 angioplasties annually.

What happens during an angioplasty?
Coronary angioplasty isn't considered surgery because it's less invasive - your body isn't cut open except for a very small puncture in a blood vessel in the leg, arm or wrist through which a small, thin tube (called a catheter) is threaded and the procedure performed. The entire procedure can take 30 minutes to several hours.
Angioplasty is commonly performed through an artery in your groin (femoral artery). Less commonly, it may be done using an artery in your arm or wrist area.

Before the procedure, the area is prepared with antiseptic solution and a sterile drape is placed over your body. A local anesthetic is injected into your groin to numb the area. Small electrode pads are placed on your chest to monitor your heart rate and rhythm during the procedure. General anesthesia isn't needed, so you're awake during the procedure. You'll receive fluids and medications for relaxation and mild sedation through an intravenous catheter. You'll get blood-thinning medications (anticoagulants) to reduce blood clotting, and then the procedure begins:

After numbing the incision area, a small cut is made, usually in your leg, to access an artery. Your doctor will then insert a thin guide wire into the artery and thread it through the artery from the incision area up to your blockage.
• Once the guide wire reaches the blockage, a small, thin tube (catheter) is passed over the wire until
it reaches the blockage. You might feel pressure in your groin while this is being done, but you
shouldn't feel sharp pain. You also won't feel the catheter in your body.
• A small amount of contrast agent, or dye, is injected through the catheter. This helps your doctor
look at the blockage on X-ray images called angiograms.
• A small balloon at the end of the catheter is inflated, widening the blocked artery. The balloon stays
inflated for up to several minutes at the site of the blockage, stretching out the artery before it's
deflated and removed. Your doctor might inflate and deflate the balloon several times before it's
removed, stretching the artery a bit more each time to widen it.

Because the balloon temporarily blocks blood flow to part of your heart, it's common to experience chest pain while it's inflated. If you have several blockages, the procedure may be repeated at each site.

Stents provide added support:
Once the artery is widened, a device called a stent is usually placed in the artery to act as scaffolding to help prevent it from re-narrowing after the angioplasty. The stent looks like a very tiny coil of wire mesh. Stents can be coated with medication that's slowly released to help prevent arteries from re-clogging. These coated stents are called drug-eluting stents, in contrast to noncoated versions, which are called "bare-metal" stents.

Here's what happens:
• The stent is collapsed, placed around a balloon at the tip of the catheter and guided through the
artery to the blockage.
• At the blockage, the balloon is inflated and the spring-like stent expands and locks into place
inside the artery.
• The stent remains in the artery permanently to hold it open and improve blood flow to your heart.
• Once the stent is in place, the balloon catheter is removed and more images (angiograms) are taken
to see how well blood flows through your newly widened artery.
• Finally, the guide catheter is removed and the procedure completed.

After your stent placement, you may need prolonged treatment with medications to reduce the chance of blood clots forming on the stent material.

The recovery period:
You'll probably remain hospitalized - in rare cases two or more days - while your heart is monitored and your vital signs are checked frequently. Your doctor will likely prescribe medications (anticoagulants) to prevent blood clots, relax your arteries and protect against coronary spasms.
When you return home, drink plenty of fluids to help rid your body of the contrast dye. Avoid strenuous exercise and lifting heavy objects for several days afterward. Ask your doctor or nurse about other restrictions in activity.

Results
For most people, coronary angioplasty greatly increases blood flow through the previously blocked artery. Your chest pain should subside, and you may have a better ability to exercise.
Lifestyle modifications will help you maintain your good results, including:
• Stopping smoking
• Lowering your cholesterol levels
• Maintaining a healthy weight
• Controlling other conditions, such as diabetes and high blood pressure
• Getting regular exercise
Successful angioplasty also means you might not have to undergo a more invasive surgical procedure called coronary artery bypass surgery. In a bypass, an artery or a vein is removed from a different part of your body and sewn to the surface of your heart to take over for the blocked coronary artery. This surgery requires a large incision in the chest. Recovery from bypass surgery is usually longer and more uncomfortable.
If you have many blockages or narrowing of the main artery leading to the heart, reduced heart function, or diabetes, then your doctor may recommend bypass surgery instead of angioplasty and stent placement. In addition, for technical reasons some blockages may be better treated with bypass surgery.

Risks of angioplasty:
Restenosis. Angioplasty isn't without some risks. A major drawback of coronary angioplasty is the potential for your artery to re-narrow (restenosis) within months of the procedure. With angioplasty alone - without stent placement - restenosis happens in as many as 30 percent to 40 percent of cases. Stents were developed to reduce restenosis. The original bare-metal stents reduce the chance of restenosis to less than 20 percent, and the use of drug-eluting stents has reduced the risk to less than 10 percent.

Blood clots.
Recent studies have raised concern about the risk of blood clots forming within stents long term - meaning weeks or months after angioplasty. These clots may cause a heart attack - the exact opposite goal of angioplasty. Some studies have suggested that drug-eluting stents increase this clotting risk, compared with bare-metal stents, but the findings of other studies have not been conclusive. This issue is being studied by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Because drug-eluting stents are relatively new, long-term results are not yet available. Regardless of the type of stent placed, it is absolutely necessary to take aspirin, clopidogrel (Plavix) and other medications as prescribed to decrease the chance of clots forming in the stent.

Blood thinners
It is very important that you closely follow your doctor's recommendations concerning duration of treatment with anti-platelet agents - aspirin and clopidogrel or similar medications. Most people who have undergone angioplasty with or without stent placement will need to take aspirin for life. Those who have had stent placement will need clopidogrel for six to 12 months or longer in some cases. If you have any questions or if you need noncardiac surgery, you should talk to your cardiologist before stopping any of these medications.

Most people who have angioplasty and stent placement do well, often for many years. However, if you have recurrent symptoms of chest pain or shortness of breath, or other symptoms similar to before your procedure, you should contact your doctor. If you have chest pain at rest or pain that doesn't respond to nitroglycerin, you should call 911 or emergency medical help.

To learn and be learned, to guide along the way, to redeem, and to take the rest of our souls to heaven where Jesus Christ lays the foundation of true happiness forever.

I for one is closely associated with the good teachings of the bible and the churches’ faith in God. I am one of the Lector in our catholic church in Qatar, a member of couples for Christ in Indonesia, a Lay Minister during my time in Hongkong, and an active choir member on top of being a regular commentator during holy Sunday mass in Batam Indonesia. This is one example of how we should live a true and meaningful Christian life. No matter what risk and problems that we face in our daily life, God will always be there to provide the essential support and the guidance that we all need.

Behold…the strength that comes from within is through the faith that God has encrypted on us. The Lord is my shepherd, the stronghold of my salvation. Glory to God in the highest, and peace to his people on earth…for God so love the world that He gave his only begotten Son. That whosoever believe in Him shall not perish and have eternal salvation. amen.

Regards to all of you,
James D Duncan

(1) What is half of 8,
yet isn't 2 x 2,
0 also isn't
what I'm looking for from you.

(2) A man in a restaurant asked a waiter for a juice glass, a dinner plate, water, a match, and a lemon wedge. The man poured enough water onto the plate to cover it.
WELCOME AHS77 STARBATCH KAPIHAN ADDICTS... - Page 4 Ahs_we10
"If you can get the water on the plate into this glass without touching or moving this plate, I will give you $100," the man said. "You can use the match and lemon to do this."
A few minutes later, the waiter walked away with $100 in his pocket. How did the waiter get the water into the glass?

(3) It doesn't hurt to take a hard look at yourself from time to time. This little test should help you get started.

During a visit to a mental asylum, a visitor asked the Director what the criteria is that defines if a patient should be institutionalized.

"Well," said the Director, "we fill up a bathtub. Then we offer a teaspoon, a teacup, and a bucket to the patient and ask the patient to empty the bathtub."

Okay, here's your test:
1. Would you use the spoon?
2. Would you use the teacup?
3. Would you use the bucket?

"Oh, I understand," said the visitor. "A normal person would choose the bucket, as it is larger than the spoon."
What was the director's response?

Brain matters, it's that stuff between your ears, not wax. Do it so we may say you got something between your ears batchmates!!!

PostSubject: A speedy recovery is what i prayed for you James   WELCOME AHS77 STARBATCH KAPIHAN ADDICTS... - Page 4 Icon_minitimeSat Aug 23, 2008 7:22 pm

Hope everyone is fine and in good health always.

Pareng James, kahit nayon lang ako nakapag-post ulit, i kept on praying and will still be praying for your speedy recovery. Alam ko naman na hindi ka pababayaan ng Diyos lalo in this time of need. I hope you get well soon, basta ingat ka lang lagi and sundin mo lang kung ano ang doctor's orders and i'm sure with those pretty nurses around you, lalong mas mapapadali ang recovery mo. Natatawa ako when i read about yung tungkol sa pressure that needs to be applied doon sa singit mo, and when you said nakakakiliti yun, i can't help but imagine ang reaction mo when it finally happen. Talagang kalog ka and kahit nga you are undergoing through the knife eh andun pa rin yung sense of humour mo. I will continue to say my prayers for your speedy recovery palagi para naman hindi ka namin ma-miss ng matagal dito, so as pag magaling ka na, and everything is back to normal, meron na naman kaming mababasang mga pa-kwela from you. I went through almost the same scenario last year, when i had my kidney stone removed. I woke up one morning na sobrang sakit ng gilid ng stomach ko, talagang unbearable, halos sumigaw ako lalo pag kumirot na. Namimilipit ako, so my hubby rushed me to the hospital, then they injected morphine, pero everyone now and then pag sumakit ulit, halos mamatay ako sa kakaiyak, sabi ko pa nga sa hubby ko, let me die na lang kesa ganito kasakit yung nararamdaman ko. Then i had all the tests done, and eventually they decided, i had to go for an operation. Alam nyo at that time, nung dadalhin na ako sa O.R. i cried and cried, andun yung fear ko knowing that baka hindi na ako magising, kasi when i had my first son, i had a pulmonary embolism, nag-clot yung dugo sa lungs ko, and i almost died because of that. Kaya nung second time ko ulit to go to the O.R. talagang iyak ako ng iyak, i'm afraid kasi nga i don't know how the operation will go through and at the same time, naiisip ko mga anak ko. Pero one thing that help me themost is yung pag-rosary ko, and i was holding the rosary right through the time na andun na ako sa O.R. table. Tapos one of the people there hold my hand and said to me, don't worry, everything will be alright, you will be alright and when you opened your eyes, we will be here right beside you. And the rest is history now. It has been almost a year now since that incident happened, pero everything is still fresh in my memory, but one thing i know that pulled me through is my faith in our GOD. And hindi NYA ako pinabayaan. SO GET WELL SOON MY DEAR PARENG JAMES!

Ingat lagi and kumusta sa family.

Ingat and musta sa lahat.

Kaya nga talagang dapat eh totohanan na itong how we looked after ourselves, maging doon sa mga things we eat, yung pag-exercise, kahit man lang walking, and yung the way we handle things in our life, especially yang word na STRESS! Kaya nga i said to myself, take it easy, so dapat ganun ka din friend ha. Ingat and talk to you again soon.

Everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion and in return we all get the respect that we are also entitled to. Hope all is well with your family and take it easy too okay. Ingat ka rin lagi.

Hello Manny Ace, kumusta ka na? Ingat ka rin lagi esp. with your line of work, kasama ka rin lagi sa mga panalangin namin, esp. your safety. Keep posting pag may time ka. Take care.

And to the rest of our batchmates, whereever you are, ingat kayo lagi and kumusta to each of you. Till then....

PostSubject: Praying for your successful surgery, Pareng James!   WELCOME AHS77 STARBATCH KAPIHAN ADDICTS... - Page 4 Icon_minitimeSat Aug 23, 2008 11:00 pm

Good day to all of you my dear batchmates! And a sincere 'WELCOME PARENG JUNE RECIDORO' here in AHS Starbatch Kapihan Forumotion!!!

Pareng James -> relax & huwag masyadong mag-worry para hindi tumaas ang BP during your operation. Thanks also for taking time-out to post info about Angioplasty. Take your time to rest Pare, then if ok ka na ay tsaka ka na lang ulit magpost ng message here ha! That is kung matitiis mo na hindi ka makapag-read dito kahit ilang days lang. Take care para madali ang pag-recover, ok. Our prayers are with you

Pareng June Recidoro -> our warmest welcome here for you sa forumotion! For sure your Pareng Roel will be very happy about it. Bakit it took you yata quite a while before you finally decided to post a message here. Just recently lang, Mareng Prislette said na pinaupo ka talaga niya in front of the computer diyan sa house ninyo to read our messages here, kita mo naman kung gaano tayo kasaya rito. O baka naman, gusto mo pang abangan ang mga names ng mga nagka-crush kay Mareng Prislette na talaga namang maganda nung high school up to now. Kaya lang obviously, ikaw Pareng June nag "BIG WINNER AMONG THEM!" Hope to read more messages from you pare ha!

Mareng Prislette -> hi & thanks din for the clear info that you've posted about Pareng James' present health status. For the 2nd time around, nag-blush ka na naman pala ulit. Iba talaga ang mga magaganda, kaya nababansagan na you're one of those "crush ng bayan" during our high school days. Wait natin ang reply ni Pareng Freddie, since magkatabi kami sa upuan ni Nanette during Manny's birthday celebrtion, ibinulong niya sa akin (kahit nag-blushed din si Nanette ng ilang beses, talagang namumula her face), that she read na rin daw here kung sino ang may crush sa kanya. Yes, talagang I tried to learn how to post some pictures here, kasi nga aside sa busy si Larry, di ba medyo matagal ding nagka-problema ang internet connection niya.

Larry -> wow! Bilib talaga ako sa iyo for your bonggang welcome kay Pareng June Recidoro. And again great poem that you've made for Pareng James, it seems na talagang madali for you na gumawa ng ganun. Musta na kayo diyan sa Baguio after the typhoon "Karen". Larry, your 1st posting here was nung Oct. 22, 2007, so that will be our anniversary date here ba?

Ehris -> nice to have a chat w/ you. Hope ok na ang sinusitis mo? Natuloy ka bang bumalik sa doctor mo? Naku my friend Ehris, like you natatawa rin ako when I read Pareng James' message kasi nga mukhang mas excited siya to see those beautiful nurses as what Mareng Prislette mentioned din in her latest message here. You know, I told Roel sa recent e-mail ko to him na we're really becoming more closer, aside sa mga exchanging of messages here, yun pang mga overseas call mo & even our verbal chats. Your sincerety & being so jolly are the 2 big factors that really hit me, imagine thru Mareng ATG kaya tayo ngayon at ease w/ each other, ganung si Roel ang naging classmates mo nung grade school. Anyhow, talaga yatang kahit hindi tayo maghanap ng TRUE FRIENDS ay darating iyon sa right time & right place (kahit nandiyan ka sa Australia), at least thru internet connection we establishes this kind of special friendship. Stay happy my friend!

Trifee -> nice to read your message here again. Obviously talagang you're a chess enthusiast! When are you going back sa work mo sa Virginia, U.S.A.?

To everyone -> hello & regards, ingat kayo lagi!

I love you

Life is not a bed of roses ... alam naman nating lahat yan. May kanya kanya tayong pag iisip di ba. Hindi natin kailangan ang 'backbiting', we just have to be honest and respectful at the same time. Salamat nga pala at exempted ako sa pagiging psycho - tama ka rin, you have to be a little bit crazy to be in a war zone. Pero siguro nagulat ka kay Letty at Prislette noh, we all three are in the same wavelength sa brainteaser mo. So if I am excempted Larry ....

Trifee - Very noble ang cause mo, sporsoring a chess tournament, essay writing contest and poetry. Keep posting about your daily activities sa Virginia.

James D - Take care buddy. Malayo sa bituka yan ... malayo nga ba? Joke lang pare, pinanatawa lang kita. God Bless and I know malalagpasan mo yan.

Another brainteaser from Larry. Try ko ulit sagutin:

1. What is half of 8,
yet isn't 2 x 2,
0 also isn't
what I'm looking for from you.

My answers:
A. eh di '3' - draw a vertical line straight sa middle ng 8, you get '3'.
B. Another logical answer - it is about 'time', like 7:30 or 8:30, depending on the vernacular sa lugar na kinaroroonan mo.

2. About duon sa mental asylum if a patient has to be institutionalized. A patient was given a spoon, a cup and a bucket, and was told to empty a bathtub full of water.

My answer:
1. A normal person will do this .... if you are normal like me, he he he. I will not use any of the three things, all I have to do is pull the 'drain plug'. Simple simple, isn't it.

Thanks Larry for the braiteasers .... keep it coming. I will leave the other brainteaser for our other Batchmates to answer ... daya ko noh.

To ALL Kapihan StarBatchmates ... Kamusta kayong lahat at mabuhay! Take care and God Bless.
