Thelma -> hi & nice to read your inspirational message just now. Actually, I thought namali ako ng dinig when I asked you nung Christmas Party natin when is your bday? You've said it's Jan. 26, kaya medyo nag-alangan ako when I read that your bday is today (Jan. 25), anyhow, my family & I would like to extend to you our warm greetings of a very "HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY"! May you have more good blessings not only this year but for the coming years ahead, most especially good health always! Warm hugs from me & Roel & sweet kisses from my kids ha!

Larry -> maganda yung panakot mo sa mga hindi nagpo-post ha! Kita mo, alisto ngayon si Jaime sa pagpo-post, obviously ayaw niyang ma-mugshot or malagyan ng hihilahin sa paa. Alam yata ni Jaime na siya ang tinatarget mo, same as what I'm thinking, kaya lang maagap siya. Ok Larry, I will check my records kung sino-sino ang merong birthdate of our batchmates, then I will send to you thru personal e-mail. Ang ganda naman ng birthday greetings ng Ministry nyo for Thelma with matching choir picture & song pa. Happy to know that you received na pala the pictures I've mailed, yap that was taken sa new digicam na pasalubong sa aming mag-iina ni Roel when he arrived last Oct. 2007, very clear talaga & magaganda ang kuha. Hay naku Larry, talagang hindi ako nagdalawang isip na ipadala sa lahat ng kakilala ko na may e-mail addresses sa akin about the forwarded message I received regarding "Dengue". Honestly, ako as a mom to my kids, very much concerned sa health nila & nalulungkot ako everytime I can hear/read/watch news about dengue na mostly ay children ang affected & others even died dahil hindi naagapan, all year round na raw kung "dengue fever", nakaka-worry talaga! Also, Larry, as you will notice, I mentioned all the names on my greetings of our batchmates who already posted their messages here (I arranged their names ayon sa pagkaka-sunod-sunod ng postings nila ha, alam mo naman ako, gusto ko ay fair palagi ok). Hope hindi mo muna itutuloy ang pinaplano mong mag-shot, why not send them muna your personal e-mails na pangungumusta. Kasi ilan sa kanila ang nahihirapang makapag-post ng reply or makapasok dito sa forumotion. Once they reply your personal e-mail, malalaman mo their reasons why they cannot post, especially the ladies, di ba exempted na kami sa mag-shot, but in return they have to post! This is just my opinion & ok lang whatever your plan here sa forumotion natin to add joy & long-lasting friendship & communication.

Imagine, kahit na nasa abroad kayo, still the Filipino values, like yung pag-aalala mo to your kids na hinihintay mo pang makauwi safely sa bahay, kahit boys pa sila at malalaki na, nandiyan ka pa rin untiringly waiting for them kahit abutin ka pa ng madaling araw. It's 11:33pm, Thusday, 24 Jan 2008. I am here in the kitchen watching late night Toronto news on TV while typing this message using my notebook computer. Just finished making my daily hugas the plato. I thought I'd cook fried egg with kamatis and asin. So finish na rin ako. I think I consumed about 5 units of large eggs enough to prepare my baon for tomorrow, eat a little.

I made baon also for my eldest, Teejay, 27 years of age. So, I put his baon on the table in his room beside his notebook computer. Teejay is already asleep and he has to be at work tomorrow morning at 7:00am.

Winsome, 17, my Canadian Army son, is in the basement watching TV and playing online computer games. Ryan, 21, my artist son, is upstairs in his room, playing online computer games and so with Mayboy, 12, my youngest, who is already sleeping. Sabi ko sa kanila ... huwag magpuyat at matulog na.

In our room, upstairs, my wife, Irma, is already sleeping. "Manager" ang tawag ko sa kanya. Siguro, natapos na niya yung DVD movie, Shattered featuring Pierce Brosman ...

My initial days here in Jakarta ,Indonesia was tiring but i would say it started well..From the airport , i went immediately to our office and was warmly received and welcomed by my local staffs here. I was told that they were excited and glad to be led by an Asian brother this time. The following days were full of meetings and that includes an inspection visit to our new manufacturing facility which is located 90 kms from Jakarta. Traffic in Jakarta is i think worst than what we have there in Manila . At least sa atin diyan pag non- peak hours maluwag na, dito from early morning hangang 8 ng gabi medyo masikip pa rin. .. While on my way to the plant my driver told me that there is a Filipino that heads a company near our facility and surprise ,surprise it turn out that the guy was my Mech. Engineering Classmate and Batchmate in MAPUA. He married an infuential local girl , speaks now fluent BAHASA and converted to ISLAM but still eats chicharong baboy hahaha.I had a dinner in his place last night and met his whole family.

Brod Larry - Our search for your dear friend Elmer is still on going ,I have requested our good friend Jun Pappy to oversee and direct our pool of investigators while i'm away... I heard that there was a big catch last month in the person of SAMUEL SAN LUIS and a communication was already established. Your friend Elmer is so elusive but we are not losing hope my friend pasa saan ba at mahuhuli rin natin yan..

Larry: Pasensiya na na Mr. Admin , hindi ako naka post lately. Alam mo bang after I post na may Tendonitis ako & then I have to take my mom home w/ me & take care of her, I got really sick. I just had that bout of Tendonitis, was off for almost one week, then went back to work for a day. That night, I started having fever & chills. The weather here in SF is so cold & windy. Lately it has been raining & now snowing even in the lower elevations, even at the 2000 ft. level. The flu hit me hard. I was literally in bed for 10 days, alternating having the fever, chills, & then will be so hot! My body was aching all over, kahit mata ko masakit dahil parating mainit at nagluluha, panay ang coughing at masakit na ang chest & throat. In as much as there no cure for viral infection, just treating the symptoms are so bothersome. I even went to my doctor again, he was surprised to see me so soon again. I guess I have seen him 3 times in a month. Prescribed me stronger cough medicine w/ Codeine w/c makes me so drowsy. Lahat masakit, buhok lang yata ang hindi. Today, I feel a little better, still having occasional cough & runny nose. What really bothers me, is that I had a flu vaccine in November. I thought that it will protect me from contracting the flu. Mabuti na lang at hindi nahawa si Jun, ayaw ko ngang patabihin sa akin all those days for fear that he may get sick, pero, malakas ang resistensiya. Pero my 2 boys
got sick, too, hawa-hawa na kami. So, Mr. Admin, ok ba ang "excuse letter" ko? Sa trabaho nga, nagbigay din din ako ng doctor's note, eh.

Freddie: Yah, read that you are in Jakarta. Congratulations! In as much as we all know that you will miss your family & they will miss you too, it is for the best, di ba? Good that you are still able to post even you are far away. Just take care of your health, mahirap magkasakit, lalo na kung nag-iisa ka sa ibang bansa.

Letty: Thanks for your e-mail, alam kong matagal na iyon, pero ngayon lang ako nakapagbukas. Kamusta na ang family?, Ako, eto, tuluyan nang nagkasakit, at this time, napuruhan ako. I look so " haggard" na, lost 5 lbs. Hay naku, that is the only positive thing that happened to me lately. But because it was due to illness, ang "pangit" ng hitsura ko, yun bang biglang pumayat ang face ko, yung halatang nagkasakit, di pala maganda. Na co-conscious tuloy ako. Tapos, napabayaan ko na ang "hair" ko, hindi pa nagkukulay, lumalabas na tuloy ang mga "gray hair" . Sige nga, mamaya magkukulay ako. Kasi feeling ko, "looking ugly" na ako. Mahirap magkasakit. Nasa bahay ka nga araw-araw, pero wala namang magawa, nakahiga lang sa kama, nilalagnat parati at ubo ng ubo. I can't wait till summer, I want to feel the warmth of the sun on my skin!!

Jun P: Glad to hear & see the pictures when you went to visit Larry in Baguio. It was a nice view, was that Larry's backyard view? It was so beautiful. My Jun also saw the pictures. How's life treating you these days? Kuwento ka naman, ok?

Jaime D: Hello my dearest cutie friend. Good thing that you are still healthy, the weather hasn't gotten to you yet? The flu "got" me so bad. I don't want to be sick anymore, sunod-sunod pa naman. Ang malas naman. Nasira tuloy ang " beauty" ko. Haggard looking na ako, pero, mind, you, lost 5 lbs na me. ha! ha! Where are you going in Feb? Another vacation? Call me, ok?

Thelma: Happy-Happy Birthday! I do know that your B-day is in late January. Di ba, remember, sa ating Panots, ikaw kasi ang unang-unang nag ce-celebrate ng B-day during the year. So, it stuck in my mind ang B-day mo is last week of Jan, but honestly, can't remember the exact date. Have a nice one. Got your e-mail, too. My dearie, I got sick, almost 10 days in bed, kawawa naman ako. Can't wait till summer, this cold weather is really having it's toll on everybody. it has been raining, there are floods, avalanches, & snow in the higher elevations. It has been a first that it snowed here in the Marin Highlands & in Santa Cruz. Ayaw ko nang lamig! Makes me want to visit the Phils. soon. I don't know, can't decide. Our UST Nursing batch is planning a Mexican Riviera Cruise this coming July. Jun wants to bring me to Europe in the Summer, but I want to go to Canada in August. Can't decide where to go. Norielyn is also inviting us to visit her in Austria in April, hay naku! Ang daming gastos, gustong puntahan lahat, pero hindi lang puede, no budget for all. Also the value of the US dollar is no good this time, if we go to Europe, we will be expecting to spend more because of the low value of the dollar. My cousins are also inviting us to visit them in Switzerland. Jun & I will have to decide where to really go, siguro, at least dalawa lang, not all.

Triffee: How are you my dear? My ulirang ama? Yes, I know how it is to go to work, then still work in the house. Mukhang ikaw yata ang gumagawa ng housework & cooking, ah? Naku, just put food in the oven, baked food is better, less fat & cholesterol. Dito nga, we are starting to do more baking than sauteing & frying,& put your dirty dishes in the dishwasher, so that it will save you time. Then, have the kids help you w/ the other tasks, like assign who will do the vacuum, load the laundry, mow the lawn or shovel snow, on trash day, assign who will put the bins in the curb, whether it is blue or green bin & of course the brown bin. Like me, the kids have assignments. I tell them that I only have 2 hands, & I cannot do everything by myself & that I need their help. They have their assignments, who cleans their own bathroom, ( we have 3 bathrooms) so they have to clean their own bathrooms. I do mine. Who does vacuuming, even Jun has his assignment. He cooks & takes care of the lawn, front & back, & he does the trash bins. The kids clean the second floor, I do the first floor & the kitchen, I do the laundry, one son cleans the second floor bathroom, my daughter cleans the first floor bathroom, I clean the masterbathroom, etc. Try to do that, the kids will help.

Larry -> of course, I know naman na nagbibirong-totoo ka rin paminsan-minsan, lalo pa nga at ilan na ang nasampolan mo ng mughshots di ba? At least ok rin ang threats mo kasi may mga nagre-react, which means, we're very much alive here, kaya let's always keep the ball rolling, lalo na sa mga may time to post in here. Kita mo larry, Prislette had a valid reason why she can't post, got what I mean & siyempre yung sinasabi mong baka may ma-mugshot, it really an additional spice in our forumotion & nami-miss na natin ang mga hindi nagpo-post

Trifee -> it seems really that you love & sincere in all the things you're doing for your family. Kapag nakasanayan mo ng gawin ang mga things that you enjoy doing or walang ibang gagawa kundi ikaw, lahat ay madali na lang. Agreed ako kay Prislette to assign certain household chores sa mga kids mo, kasi ganyan kaming magkakapatid nung nag-aaral na sa high school, binigyan kami ng certain tasks to do ng tatay & nanay namin sa bahay, especially during weekends & it's a good training habang lumalaki at makasanayan na nga. Anyhow, ikaw pa rin ang head of the family at nasa sa iyo ang decision sa pagtutulungan ng isang pamilya sa loob ng bahay. Napakabait mo Trifee & very responsible man

Pareng Freddie -> nice to hear from you na kahit busy ka ay tinupad mo ang promise mo that this forumotion will still be a part of your work & while you're there in Indonesia. Yap, may new textmate ako in the person of your pretty wife, kaya lang ang tipid niyang magreply. Meron ba siyang dapat isumbong sa akin? Di ba very responsible/hardworking/kind husband & father naman, pahabaol & faithful pala (tama ba ako). Fyi, Mareng ATG has a problem posting here, she cannot get through again & her husband returned na sa Saudi nung 2nd week of Jan. pa. Maybe I need to call Pareng Jun tomorrow sa office to give him a notice about the mugshot that Larry is planning. I know, kayang-kaya mo ang mga responsibities mo riyan as a new Overseas Manager (pls. correct me ha if I'm wrong sa new designation mo riyan). Larry: Tama ka, magaling pa rin ang memory mo, ako nga ang nag umpisa ng word na " mugshot" noon, pero ikaw ang nagpatotoo noon by posting our first mugshot in the Kapihan Forum. Hindi ko malilimutan, naka-ukit na sa gray matter ko. Kaya na-phobia yata ako dahil sa takot na baka ma-alter ang image, now knowing na may mga pictures ka, di ba? Pero, just to think of it, it makes our message board really fun, something to look forward to, & by you putting those icons or cute pics, it makes it look lively & colorful. Honestly, it makes me
"smile". Lalo na noong nag roll call ka, you even wrote: labornurse,..... alam mo ba kung sino siya? O isa lang siya sa mga taong nagtatago sa isang" alias"? So, ngayon, hala, alam mo na ang tunay na dahilan kung bakit "takot" ako sa mugshot. Kung baga, " I don't want to have a dose of my own medicine."

So, takot akong maligaw at ma-hold-up. Sabi kasi ng hipag ko, the last 2 times na umuwi ako, halata daw akong balikbayan, kahit na simple lang ako, pero sabi niya, sa mga kilos ko daw, pati daw "amoy ko" or even the way I carry my purse,takaw hold-up daw ako. Ay naku, ayaw ko ng ganoon. Ang mga holdaper ang dapat ma mugshot at hindi ako! kaya nga minsan, takot akong umuwi ng Pilipinas. Kaya nga noong umuwi ako noong April, I tried my best to " blend-in". Yung tanong mo tungkol sa mom ko, last week, pinapunta ko muna sa kapatid ko. She was here all the time na nagkasakit ako, kaya, mahirap noon ang lagay ko, may sakit na, nag-aalaga pa sa kanya. Ang plano naming magkakapatid ay pauwiin na siya sa kapatid kong nasa QC after all her check-ups at kapag nakakuha na kami ng bagong passport niya. Mas madaling alagaan siya diyan kasi puedeng kumuha ng maid na para sa kanya lang. Hindi na kasi siya reliable , dapat may kasama palagi. AND OF COURSE I'M STILL SO TIED UP WITH MY WORK

Larry -> I'm sure happy ka kasi ilan na ang ayaw na ma-mugshot mo? Kung alam lang nila sana that we're all missing them here. Thanks sa e-mails mo ha & I replied them na rin. About my kids, what I mean, whenever na kakain sila, either here sa bahay or in other houses lalo na kapag may mga celebrations or special gatherings, ayaw nilang maglagay sa plate nila ng halo-halong pagkain, 1 or 2 kinds ay solved na sila, then later na lang sila kukuha if they want to taste other food, pero madalas yung gusto lang nilang kainin ang babalikan nila. Kasi dito sa house, sinanay ko sila na parating may vegetables, soup at hindi puro pork, beef or plain fish lang, aside sa daily dessert na madalas ay fresh fruits, sometimes mga sweets, pero they prefer talaga na prutas ang dessert. Naku, ikaw talaga, lalo mo lang akong tinakam sa mga pagkain that you've posted. Yap, nagustuhan namin ni Roel yung inihanda mong pinikpikang manok & the other food that you served when we were there in your place, lalo na yung fresh vegetables na crispy pa kasi nga fresh din from Baguio. Anyhow, I'm wishing you all the best of luck sa upcoming business ng eldest daughter mo. Advance happy golden birthday naman sa Aug. sa better-half mong si Al & congratulations din in advance sa silver wedding anniversary ninyong mag-asawa in October, talaga nga lang dapat na as early as this ay nag-uumpisa ka ng magprepare. Fyi, I called up Thelma nung birthday niya & that's the only time we got to talked again after our Christmas Party at nung nag-uusap na kami atska ko lang din nalaman her new cellphone number kaya nga I text it to you dahil she's really a good person/batchmate/friend to us. Tuwang-tuwa ako habang nagbabasa ng messages ninyo. Lahat halos ay nag-respond na para hindi ma-mugshot. Actually, I know that deep in our hearts ok naman tayong mamug-shot diba? Aminin. Ha-ha-ha! The funny thing that Larry did was to tickle our childlike emotions that if we err, lagot tayo. Being childlike (hindi childish ha?) is something that brings us together because we all have a common denominator...i.e. how it was to be like a child back in AHS. Let us try not to forget that as we grow older, our lens become jaded and we tend to look at things using a tunnel vision. True friends brings us back to what joy truly means. No amount of material wealth, accolades and recognition from our profession can outweigh the innocense of youth. Afterall, being childlike is Godlike.
