Thanks for informing us in your message #323 regarding our future plan to have our 50th birthday celebration all together. Since dito lang ako nakatutok sa forumotion natin, I thought all along na tayo-tayo lang ang nag-uusap about that, but dahil nga may mga batchmates din tayong nandito at nasa kabila (where I personally unsubscribed since I posted my farewell message there last Sept. 2007), more or less ay maaaring may nakapag-banggit about the proposal of Prislette na sabay-sabay nating i-celebrate our 50th birthday celebration. Sad to know & parang ang hirap tanggapin na nung una pa lang, you've said that "YOU WILL BE ATTENDING" & in your latest message nga, you've said "YOU WILL NOT BE ATTENDING ANYMORE". Pwede pa rin nating pag-usapan yan dito, if it will be as per invitation ng mag-o-organize, if all our batchmates who are really interested to attend can come or other options from each & everyone of us here should be taken into consideration. Marami na rin naman sa atin, like me, who is really looking forward on that 50th bday celebration natin. By the way Larry, I think your message for Ehlee in your message #323, di kaya para kay Ehris iyon? Maybe, nalito ka lang kasi pareho ang 1st letter of their names

Nice to know that your mom is doing better where she is now, pero talagang she likes to go back here sa Pinas pala, yun nga lang hindi pa tapos yung mga papers niya di ba? Wow naman, it seems fully-booked na ang calendar mo sa vacations nyo ni Jun. Tama lang to relax & enjoy yourself & Jun para sa quality time & more closer bonding ninyong dalawa & then with your kids na rin pagpunta ninyo sa Disneyland. You're all lucky for having a vacation spree & even planning them ahead. If in case you cannot really contact me, no problem my friend, I will be the one to call you na lang unexpectedly ok!

that was really for Ehris, ano ba yan Leticia, grabe na ang memory gapo ko hahahaha!!! Salamat, ganun ba. Paano ba yun ano, kasi yun ang nasa frame of refrence ng mind ko, pati sila kasama a, i guess i read it like twice over the bakod sort of. Correct me if I am wrong. Again thanks, I guess all of us here are looking forward to it. Ang sama ko ba batchmates kung umayaw ako kung kasama lahat? Kasi di ko talaga kaya, bumabalik sa isip ko ang rough words noon during their mad-throwing spree sakin. Na I guess sinagot ko biblically and straight forward lang di ba? Nagi-guilty tuloy ako Letz ewan ko if you guyz can identify why I feel this way, there's something that shouts "No" inside of me. Honest lang ako!!!! Kasi our orientation in the family and church is never again mingle around with guys who caused you pains already and division, not unless they cleared up all issues and resorted to sort of restitution. Satin nag-okay ang lahat sa tapikan lang pero hanging pa din ang kay Ompong, hanggang don lang ba yun at iniwasan na ang lahat, mabait si Ompong sakin hindi pwede yun kasi dapat managot ang dapat managot. Grabe ang naging alegasyon sa kanya and for fairness' sake dapat naiconfirm like nang sinabi ng isang tao na tama lahat ng sinabi ni Ompong dapat ikinumento nya yun at kinumpirma di ba. KASI NAMAN DAPAT IWASAN NA ANG LOKOHAN SA KAPWA... THEN AND THEN, WE CAN SAY PAST IS PAST. CONFESS YOUR SIN, ACCEPT CHRIST AS YOUR LORD AND PERSONAL SAVIOR LIKE WHAT THE SOLDIERS LATELY DID, A CHRISTIAN BIBLICAL FOLLOWER TALKED TO THEM ABOUT REBELLION TO THE GOVERNMENT AND THEY CAME TO A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH THE LORD, PRESTO, THEY ASKED FOR FORGIVENESS IN MAISNTREAM MEDIA. RED MARBLES

I was at the corner grocery store buying some early potatoes. I noticed a
small boy, delicate of bone and feature, ragged but clean,hungrily
apprising a basket of freshly picked green peas.

I paid for my potatoes but was also drawn to the display of fresh green
peas. I am a pushover for creamed peas and new potatoes.
Pondering the peas, I couldn't help overhearing the conversation between
Mr. Miller (the store owner) and the ragged boy next to me.

'Hello Barry, how are you today?'

'H'lo, Mr. Miller. Fine, thank ya. Jus' admirin' them peas. They sure look
good.'

'They are good, Barry. How's your Ma?'

'Fine. Gittin' stronger alla' time.'

'Good. Anything I can help you with?'

'No, Sir. Jus' admirin' them peas.'

'Would you like to take some home?' asked Mr. Miller.

'No, Sir. Got nuthin' to pay for 'em with.'

'Well, what have you to trade me for some of those peas?'

'All I got's my prize marble here.'

'Is that right? Let me see it' said Miller.

'Here 'tis. She's a dandy.'

'I can see that. Hmmmmm, only thing is this one is blue and I sort of go
for red. Do you have a red one like this at home?' the store owner asked.

'Not zackley but almost..'

'Tell you what. Take this sack of peas home with you and next trip this way
let me look at that red marble'. Mr. Miller told the boy.

'Sure will. Thanks Mr. Miller.'

Mrs. Miller, who had been standing nearby, came over to help me. With a
smile she said, 'There are two other boys like him in our community, all
three are in very poor circumstances. Jim just loves
to bargain with them for peas, apples, tomatoes, or whatever. When they
come back with their red marbles, and they always do, he decides he doesn't
like red after all and he sends them home with a bag of produce for a green
marble or an orange one, when they come on their next trip to the store.'

I left the store smiling to myself, impressed with this man. A short time
later I moved to Colorado , but I never forgot the story of this man, the
boys, and their bartering for marbles.

Several years went by, each more rapid than the previous one. Just recently
I had occasion to visit some old friends in thatIdaho community and while I
was there learned that Mr. Miller had died.



They were having his visitation that evening and knowing my friends wanted
to go, I agreed to accompany them. Upon arrival at the mortuary we fell
into line to meet the relatives of the deceased and to offer whatever words
of comfort we could.

Ahead of us in line were three young men. One was in an army uniform and
the other two wore nice haircuts, dark suits and white shirts...all very
professional looking. They approached Mrs. Miller, standing composed and
smiling by her husband's casket. Each of the young men hugged her, kissed
her on the cheek, spoke briefly with her and moved on to the casket.

Her misty light blue eyes followed them as, one by one, each young man
stopped briefly and placed his own warm hand over the cold pale hand in the
casket. Each left the mortuary awkwardly, wiping his eyes.

Our turn came to meet Mrs. Miller. I told her who I was and reminded her of
the story from those many years ago and what she had told me about her
husband's bartering for marbles. With her eyes glistening, she took my hand
and led me to the casket.

'Those three young men who just left were the boys I told you about. They
just told me how they appreciated the things Jim 'traded' them. Now, at
last, when Jim could not change his mind about color or size....they came
to pay their debt.'

'We've never had a great deal of the wealth of this world,' she confided,
'but right now, Jim would consider himself the richest man in Idaho '

With loving gentleness she lifted the lifeless fingers of her
deceased husband. Resting underneath were three exquisitely shined red
marbles.

The Moral : We will not be remembered by our words, but by our kind deeds.
Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take
our breath..

Today I wish you a day of ordinary miracles ~ A fresh pot of coffee you
didn't make yourself...An unexpected phone call from an old friend...Green
stoplights on your way to work...The fastest line at the grocery store...A
good sing-along song on the radio...Your keys found right where you left
them.

Send this to the people you'll never forget. I just Did...

If you don't send it to anyone, it means you are in way too much of a hurry
to even notice the ordinary miracles when they occur.

Hello guys ang girls...just droppin' by ...Howdee all out there? Larry, nice to see all your postings here and I'm sure you have the time na...kaya roll call uli mga ka-batchmates...kaya lang medyo nahilo si Larry buti n lang si Letty ang masipag at masigasig na moderator here in Starbatch ...Larry, yan na nga ang sinasabi ko medyo meron na tayong memory gap..hahaha. Also, yung previous postings mo nawala kaya si Miss ATG nahihilong mag-postings...same here.

Thanks Letty for your kind assistance and to be the moderator... beauty and witty pa...ooppss. Nakita ko yung mga pics ng golden anniversary ng mommy and daddy mo..ang ganda. My parents had golden anniversary 5 years ago and it was very nice pero wala nang church ceremony. We just celebrated with relatives and friends na lang ang it was quite nice.

Prislette dahling...hindi po ako DI si Trifee yun..dahil laid off siya sa work niya at medyo gusto niya ring pasukin and entertainment katulad ni Lito Lapid (aka Freddie) ...hahaha. Si Larry rin pala muntik nang maging artista ng Regal ...spectator lang ako at tiga palakpak pati na rin ang paa...

Ehris, that's very inspiring story...sometimes we need that and try to embrace and acknowledge what we have. Buti na lang naging pastor si Larry kung nasa limelight siya...I'm sure snub na tayo niyan dahil sa dami ng bodyguard and alalay niya and he wouldn't even recognize us...

Don't get confused sweetie!!!! It's just that sometimes I visit the old stories and archive of the heat that happened before andit pained me so much to recall how much my name was tainted because of something that was not even justified at the end. As the Bible puts it, "Let all things be done decently and in order." It didn't happen, so parang sayang ang mga pinaglaban at pagsira sa mga pangalan kung hindi din naiklaro ang ugat ng mga sobrang sakitan na sukat aminin natin ay nagdivide ng grupo natin. Natapos ang mabigat na pangyayari sa tapikan lang, "wala na sakin yun, kalimutan natin." Ganun lang? At theheight of problems I usually resort to be historical, patawarin niyo ko. Condemn me if there's something bad that I do in here. Wala kasi akong masyadong outlet, I prayed about it cuz it's the only way that I may release the negative energy that past unresolved problems usually bother me. Sorry Prislette, but please no worry, ganun talaga ako, kasi di ko masabi sa asawa ko over thephone kasi lalo nya kong hindi papayagan sa activities ng grupo cuz she witnessed how I was affected during the height of the heat. Forget it, nag-out lang ako dito. Kasi hindi ako sanay na talikuran ang isang problem na nag-cause ng malaking apoy na basta na lang babasain ng konting pawis tapos na. Sorry Prislette don't get confused.... that's only my way of saying in advance na if hindi by invitation ang 50th natin, baka hindi ako pumunta at kung open sa lahat. I hope hindi ako Kill Joy I got valid reason naman, masaya na ko naman kung masaya kayo. Basta pag nandito kayo ni Jun na eh drop by and pagluto ko kayo hane? Chicken pandan, chicken cordon blu, etc. hehe, sarap. Sige po.

Hello to all my dear friends and batchmates, A pleasant day to all of you..

I will have my home leave starting tomorrow April 25 and will be back here again in Jakarta on May 04. Although it is called a home leave , i still need to attend some meetings in Manila but this are quick meetings only so i've got all the time to enjoy the hot summer in our city of ALAMINOS ...the home of Hundred Islands. ..

Larry - Hello Brod, I'm glad your back in your usual elements again, so alive and so animated. We're happy when we feel you like this, and we're sad when we feel you're in your low spirit. We are all some what connected here, we felt the sorrows of Mathel when his father died, we felt the struggles of Prisllete for her dear mother, the loneliness of Letty everytime Roel is away and her happiness seeing her parents celebrated their golden anniversary , the elation and enthusiasm of Ramir and Ehris when they found us here , we don't despair that some have lost their way in connecting with us again because we knew they are just there sorting out things and eventually they will be with us again . We felt and share Triffees optimism that there is a good opportunity waiting for him after he got laid off from his job, but we do'nt share his optimism in joining Showbiz.. hahaha .. Hopefully he will listen. hehehe

Prislette - Thanks for the greetings . I'm glad you and Jun had ironed out already your vacation plans of course this would be a great specially if your children can join you but with or without them i think you deserve to have vacation together.
I have a lot of plans of having vacation with my wife but she always shoot it down if the kids are not with us. Just like this month , they should have been here in Jakarta but opted to cance ltheir trip (company expense pa naman) because of our children's schedule. I think the last time we have a vacation together was year 2001 when she stayed with me for 2 weeks in Monterrey , Mexico. I was telling her that we need to have time together while we are still young and not yet a grandparents because comes the time, I told her i can not imagine myself sleeping with a grandmother .. (obviously that was a joke). ....So enjoy your vacation my friend.

Larry dearie: Whew !! Akala ko may issue na naman, kinabahan na naman ako. I understand how you feel. I can relate w/ you. I myself believed that there were still unfinished business that were left "hanging" in the air. There is a BIG difference between saying: " I am sorry, or forgive me for the the unpleasantries that has transpired in the past". I agree w/ you that just " a tap on the shoulder " does not mean the same as saying the words..." I am sorry". Why, is our "celeb" open to the public? I thought that it is by invitation only? Tuloy pa ba? Nag-umpisa na nga akong mag save every payday.

Don't feel low & sad, we all at times have to undergo moments like this. If you are unable to discuss it w/ your wife, we are all here to "listen" . I am also here for you. E-mail me personally. It is not good to keep "inside" your thoughts & feelings especially if it is bothersome. You have to have an "outlet". Look at me, if something really bothers me, kahit AYAW makinig ni Jun, sapilitan kong ibinubulalas sa kanya kung may sama ako ng loob sa kanya, sa mga in-laws, sa trabaho, sa mga bata, sa finances, sa pag -mo-mow ng lawn, sa pag bunot ng damo at weeds, sa paglalaba, sa paglilinis ng bahay , kahit na nga sa changes sa weather, sa sakit ng katawan ko, etc. etc. Nakikinig naman siya, kasi mayroon akong pang " blackmail".... doon siya matutulog sa couch sa family room...ha! ha!ha! Kaya takot siyang hindi ako pakinggan. O, napatawa ba kita???

There were times too, that we don't leave for a vacation if the family is not a whole. When the kids were still small, we always make it a point we go long vacations every summer vacation. We started about a year ago to just have a special "time out" just for ourselves. We now go for 2-3 days at a time without the kids, they are all big now & can be left at home alone for the weekend. This is a special time for both of us to " rediscover" ourselves, spend time together, talk about plans for old age, etc. Sometimes we walk hand in hand along the beach like " young ones". We actually started doing this since my "cancer scare" in 2006. We want to "savor" every moment we can have now as it is scary to know that at anytime, either one of us might "leave" the other alone. And we want to leave behind fond memories of each other.

This advice is for everbody... to all of you ... my starbatchmates

Sayang naman kung madadagdagan pa ang lines mo eh ang pogi pogi mo na nga ngayon, sige ka.....Ako nga, i'm really looking forward doon sa song na you composed - yung "Isigaw Mo sa Langit" diba sabi mo kakantahin mo yun pag nag-50th birthday tayo?.....remember? Biro mo......yung batchmate ko na pastor, na mabait, eh singer/composer din pala....Hope napatawa din kita doon sa email ko na sony camera, nag-pose ka ba talaga? (hehehe!). Saludo ako sa post ni Freddie na he's correct when he says we are all somewhat connected..Gaya nga ng sabi mo we all got an angelic perspective in looking at the negatives......basta think na nandito kami behind you and syempre luv ka rin namin. Basta ako pag nagkita tayo personally i'm looking forward doon sa lahat ng masarap na luto ng ulam, kasi mahilig din ako magluto and kumain. Talagang kahit umaraw or umulan eh pupuntahan kita sa Baguio! and one more thing.....bakit nga kaya maraming nagpapapirma ng slumbook sayo nung HS pa tayo?......that i have to see for myself.....(hahaha).

Larry -> how are you now? Hope, with all the uplifting & sincere messages that we've posted here (which means, concern lang tayo sa isa't isa), medyo masigla na ang mga araw mo. Partly, I am thankful for what had happened before, kasi we knew kung sino ang mga nagpakatotoong tao sa atin. Very much thankful naman ako sa iyo for opening this forumotion link kasi nga we're here to support each other spiritually, morally, socially, hindi nga lang physically, dahil hindi tayo nagkikita-kita ng madalas, especially those our nice batchmates who are abroad, but still they're here sending their messages for us to update anything about them. Yun lang ay malaki ng bonus sa bawa't isa sa atin, lalo na sa iyo dahil since you started this forumotion ay tuloy-tuloy pa rin tayo & no hassles at all, yun nga lang yung iba due to their busy schedules ay hindi tayo nakakabalita lately, but deep in my heart, I know they're thinking of us here & I'm always positively expecting na any day soon, we can read about them again. Tama lang din ang ginawa mo to open up you sentiments here, talagang babalik at babalik sa ating alaala ang mga hindi magagandang nangyari, nasabi at nakasakit sa kalooban natin, "it's part of everyone's life", ika nga. Nice to know na nakapag-celebrate na rin pala ng 50th wedding anniv. your parents 5 years ago, at least sama-sama kayong nagcelebrate diyan with them. Sayang naman ano at hindi magtama ang schedules ng mga kids mo kaya imbes na sila ang pupunta sa Indonesia ay ikaw na lang ulit ang uuwi dito sa Pinas. But still, as wife, gusto rin namin ang bonding moments sa asawa, yun nga lang we can manage na malayo kayo sa amin dahil accepted at naiintindihan nating mabuti ang situation, pero time will surely come na kapag nagka-pamilya na our kids (huwag nga lang munang magka-apo), we can get na the precious & quality time sa isa't isa, pero sa amin ni Roel ay medyo matatagalan pa, dahil nga ang eldest namin will be 2nd year high school pa lang this school year, mahaba pang taon to save for their education. Anyhow, kapag nandito naman si Roel, talagang he is spending his quality time with us, gusto niya ay pamilya kaming lumalabas/namamasyal dahil nga mas matagal pa ang itinitigil niya sa barko kaysa makasama kami, lalo pa nga at nagdadalaga na our kids, darating at darating ang time na magkakaroon na sila ng sarili nilang mundong ginagalawan, kaya't hanggang makakasama namin sila kahit saan, ay iyon ang ginagawa namin. By the way Pare, ok lang bang i-copy paste ko sa e-mail ko kay Mareng ATG a part of your message here about your "kantiyaw" to her on her upcoming bday. BUT, mas mauuna yata ang bday mo di ba? Maybe you can treat us in advance (isabay nyo na kaya) habang you're having your vacation here, kasi baka sa bday mo ay nakabalik ka na ulit sa Indonesia. I've been out for a while so I find it hard to keep up with the latest messages. Bakit malungkot si Larry? Worried naman ako. Siya palagi ang nagbibigay sa atin ng mga pep messages kapag tayo ang malungkot. Larry, dear. Ano man yun, we're always here for you. Malalampasan mo din yan. You've been in more difficult situations and you have proven time and again that you're made of tougher stuff. I have no doubt you can surpass this again.

And to my good friend Trifee, what's the thing about employment? Did you resign? Ok lang yun. It's difficult to cut the umbilical chord from an organization that you have learned to love but time will tell you that there's always life after every job. The good thing about it....oftentimes...it's better.

Hi Prislette...I miss you. I know you're doing ok. Ang sweet ng latest message mo about trying to rediscover yourselves (you and Jun). Ganon nga talaga ang relationship. Everyday is a rediscovery of each other. That's how we make our relationship exciting!

Hello Dear Classmates!

Sorry if I was not able to post any message lately. It's been emotinally frustrating for me job hunting after 8 long years of being busy working.

The Columbus, Ohio 6-month contract position did not work out as the employer preferred a local candidate instead of taking one from Canada.

I have another - one fulltime position cooking, for a government office in Washington, DC where I had the employer technical interview by phone this afternoon and I passed it. There is a second interview by phone again on Friday. Wish me luck! I was told by my IT recruiter that should I pass this one, there is one last face-to-face interview where they will fly me into Washington, DC.

I guess I am a little bit depressed. At this age, this situation is somewhat frustrating for me. I am not one person who would take this as a chance to relax for awhile and live by the unemployment insurance for about a year. I just want to be busy again, working ...

Sorry, I have to involve you classmates, in my emotional roller-coaster ...

Trifee -> feeling happy & a little bit sad reading your latest message here. Alam mo naman for a fact that all of us here give/extend our spiritual/moral support to each other. This forumotion is open in all kinds of topic (personal, emotional, sensitive, humorous, happy, sad, etc...), kaya nga we're thankful that this forumotion existed & hoping that the existence of this forumotion will be alive as long as we're here & kicking , this is an outlet also for all of us to share everything, especially our feelings deep inside & whatever in our minds as well. Be positive my friend/classmate/batcmate, sa ngayon talaga medyo maiinip ka to find the job you're qualified & what you're exactly looking/applying for, lalo pa nga at nasanay kang magtrabaho for a very long time na & siyempre you're always thinking all the financial obligations (not only you but all of us) for our family & the day-to-day expenses. As what I've told you before, have patience & good luck sa interviews mo!

Ehris -> hi to you my dear friend! I'm really surprised & happy sa unexpected call mo sa akin yesterday (Thurs., May 1). You're a sweet & jolly person, alive na alive ang boses mo at ang dami nating napag-kwentuhan especially when we were still young & the experiences we've had hanggang sa makapagtapos in college, makapagtrabaho, magkaroon ng sariling pamilya at ngayon ay may communication tayong batch 77 & we're all looking forward na magkita-kita ulit to make our bonding/friendship more closer & long-lasting. This is just to inform everybody that I received a following e-mail from one of the present officers of our batch as follows:

"We had just finished our meeting re. our out of town reuinon on May 17 in Calatagan, Batangas...... as of this time (May 2, Fri.) 30 na po ang confirmed na sasama and we all hope na makasama ka rin at ang iba pa nating batchmates - P650.00 po/head and meron tayong Gen. meeting on May 10 Sat. at 3 p.m. sa Jadevine, U.N. Avenue for our final headcount and para din sa iba pang details. Batchmates sana eh magkasama-sama tayo sa May 17, once in a lifetime reunion po ito....so tara na!!!!!!"
